Quote of the Day: “Are We Worse Off? I Don’t Think So.”

In 2003, disability rights lawyer Harriet McBryde Johnson sat across from philosopher Peter Singer, who argues that disability makes a life 'worse off.' Her answer still lands: 'Are we worse off? I don't think so. Not in any meaningful sense. We take constraints that no one would choose and build rich and satisfying lives within them.' Our lives aren't the problem. Your assumptions are.
